Community Guidelines

Last updated: March 2026

glup exists to bring people together in real life. These guidelines ensure that every user feels safe, respected, and welcome. By using glup, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in enforcement actions up to and including permanent account termination.

1. Be Respectful

glup connects people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. Treat every user with dignity and respect.

We do not tolerate:

  • Harassment and bullying — repeated unwanted contact, intimidation, threats, or targeted attacks against any user, whether in sessions, chat, or through any other Platform feature;
  • Hate speech — content that promotes violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic;
  • Discrimination — excluding users from sessions or interactions based on protected characteristics;
  • Sexual harassment — unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, sexually explicit messages, or any other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature;
  • Threats of violence — any statement, whether direct, conditional, or veiled, that threatens physical harm to any person.

2. Keep It Real

Authenticity is the foundation of real-life connections. Be honest about who you are and what you offer.

You must not:

  • Create fake sessions — sessions must describe genuine meetups that you intend to host. Do not create sessions solely to attract attention, advertise, or mislead users;
  • Post misleading descriptions — session titles, descriptions, locations, and times must accurately reflect the actual event. Do not exaggerate, omit material details, or use clickbait;
  • Impersonate others — do not use another person's name, photo, or identity. Do not create accounts that impersonate public figures, brands, or organizations without authorization;
  • Misrepresent affiliations — do not falsely claim to represent or be endorsed by glup, any organization, or any individual;
  • Operate multiple accounts — each person may maintain only one glup account. Operating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or manipulate features is prohibited.

3. Safety First

Your safety and the safety of others is our highest priority. Help keep the glup community safe.

Prohibited activities:

  • Illegal activities — do not use glup to plan, promote, or facilitate any illegal activity, including but not limited to drug trafficking, weapons sales, fraud, or money laundering;
  • Dangerous behavior — do not organize sessions that involve inherently dangerous activities without appropriate safety measures, disclosures, and participant consent;
  • Exploitation — any form of exploitation of minors is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and reporting to law enforcement;
  • Scams and fraud — do not use the Platform to deceive users for financial gain or other benefit;
  • Encouraging self-harm — do not post content that promotes, glorifies, or encourages self-harm or suicide.

Safety recommendations:

  • Meet in public, well-lit locations for first-time sessions;
  • Inform a trusted person of your session plans and location;
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, leave;
  • Review the Safety Policy for detailed safety guidance and emergency contacts.

4. Protect Privacy

Respect the privacy of every user. What happens in sessions stays between participants unless they consent to sharing.

  • Do not share personal information — do not share another user's real name, phone number, home address, workplace, photos, or any other personal information without their explicit consent;
  • Do not record without consent — do not photograph, video record, or audio record other users during sessions without their knowledge and explicit consent;
  • Do not dox — do not research, collect, or publish private information about other users with the intent to harass, intimidate, or harm;
  • Respect location privacy — do not share the private locations (e.g., home addresses) of session hosts or participants outside of the Platform.

5. Business Integrity (Local Picks)

Business users who create Local Picks promotions must maintain the highest standards of honesty and integrity.

  • Truthful promotions — all Local Picks must accurately represent the offer, including discounts, availability, conditions, and expiration times;
  • No bait-and-switch — do not advertise a promotion and then substitute a materially different offer, add undisclosed conditions, or refuse to honor the stated terms;
  • Accurate business information — your business name, category, location, and description must be truthful and up-to-date;
  • Compliance with local law — all promotions must comply with applicable consumer protection laws, advertising standards, and business licensing requirements in your jurisdiction;
  • No prohibited products or services — Local Picks may not promote illegal products, controlled substances, weapons, adult content, gambling, or any product or service prohibited by applicable law or glup policy;
  • Timely updates — if a promotion is no longer available, update or remove the Local Pick promptly.

6. Content Standards

All content on glup — including session descriptions, chat messages, profile information, and Local Picks — must comply with these standards.

Prohibited content:

  • Sexually explicit or pornographic material;
  • Graphic violence or gore;
  • Content that promotes or glorifies terrorism or violent extremism;
  • Spam, unsolicited advertising, or repetitive/disruptive messages;
  • Malware, phishing links, or any content designed to compromise device security;
  • Content that infringes on intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, trade secrets);
  • Deliberately false or misleading information that could cause harm.

7. Fair Play

Use the Platform as intended. Do not manipulate systems designed to serve the entire community fairly.

  • No XP or Credit manipulation — do not use bots, fake accounts, coordinated inauthentic behavior, or any other method to artificially inflate your XP, Credits, leaderboard ranking, or session attendance;
  • No system abuse — do not exploit bugs, rate limiters, circuit breakers, or other technical mechanisms. Report vulnerabilities responsibly to security@gluesq.com;
  • No coordinated manipulation — do not organize groups to mass-report users, artificially boost sessions, or suppress other users' content.

8. Enforcement

We enforce these guidelines consistently and proportionally. Actions are determined by the severity and frequency of the violation:

LevelActionTypical Violations
1. WarningIn-app notification explaining the violation and expected behavior changeMinor content violations, first-time mild language, mildly misleading session descriptions
2. Content removalSpecific content (session, message, profile element) is removed or hiddenSpam, inappropriate content, inaccurate Local Picks
3. Temporary suspensionAccount access restricted for 7 to 30 daysRepeated violations after warning, harassment, deceptive business practices
4. Permanent banAccount permanently terminated, all data deleted per retention policyThreats of violence, exploitation, illegal activity, repeated severe violations, ban evasion

glup reserves the right to skip enforcement levels and take immediate action (including permanent bans) for severe violations that threaten user safety. We may also report illegal activity to law enforcement authorities.

9. Reporting

If you encounter behavior or content that violates these guidelines, please report it:

  • In-app: Use the report button available on every session, user profile, chat message, and Local Pick;
  • Email: report@gluesq.com;
  • Urgent safety concerns: If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then report to us.

All reports are reviewed by our trust and safety team. We treat reports confidentially and do not disclose the identity of the reporter to the reported user. False or malicious reporting is itself a violation of these guidelines.

10. Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken against your account in error, you may appeal:

  • How to appeal: Send an email to appeals@gluesq.com within thirty (30) days of the enforcement action;
  • Include: Your username, the enforcement action you are appealing, and a clear explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect;
  • Review process: Appeals are reviewed by a different member of our trust and safety team than the one who made the original decision;
  • Timeline: We will respond to your appeal within fourteen (14) business days;
  • Final decision: The appeal decision is final. If your appeal is successful, your account will be restored and any removed content reinstated where possible.

These guidelines are a living document. We update them as our community grows and evolves. Material changes will be communicated with at least thirty (30) days' notice. Your continued use of glup after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
